A very rare fals of Nasir al-Dawla Ghazi
Lot 3120
ISLAMIC, Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Salduqids. Nasir al-Dawla Ghazi, AH 526-540 / AD 1132-1145. Fals (Bronze, 21 mm, 1.81 g, 10 h), perhaps citing the Seljuk ruler Rukn al-Din Mas'ud I (AH 510-551). Without mint and date, probably struck at Erzurum (Theodosiopolis). Draped nimbate figure standing facing, holding long cross in his right hand and uncertain object in his left. Rev. Legend in Kufic. Album B1890. Very rare. Struck on a somewhat short flan, otherwise, about very fine.
